How to Acquire Tier II/Fine Gear in Avowed

by Oliver Apr 11,2025

In *Avowed*, keeping your weapons and armor upgraded is crucial for tackling the escalating challenges you'll face. At the start of your journey, you'll encounter mostly Common, or Level I, weapons and enemies. However, as you progress, these will scale up to Level II, necessitating Fine gear to keep up with the increased difficulty. Here's your guide on obtaining Tier II/Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*.

How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II) in Avowed

While some weapons and armor may naturally spawn or be available for purchase as Fine Quality, others will require upgrading to reach this level. In *Avowed*, gear is evaluated based on two criteria: Quality and Level. Quality is denoted by a descriptor, color, and Roman Numeral. Common items, marked in green, are at Level I, while Fine items, marked in blue, are at Level II. Between each Quality level, there are three sub-levels from +1 to +3.

To upgrade your gear from Common (I) to Fine (II), you'll need to visit a Party Camp. Each camp features a workbench where you can upgrade your equipment. You must progress through each sub-level (+1 to +3) before reaching Fine (II). Each sub-level upgrade requires specific materials, which vary depending on the gear type. Once you reach the +3 sub-level, you can then upgrade to Fine (II) using Adra, a rare and valuable crystal. Adra can be obtained through Quest completions, purchased from Merchants, or by breaking down Unique items.

Where to Find and Purchase Fine (II) Weapons and Armor in Avowed

While upgrading is an option, it can be resource-intensive. Alternatively, you can find Fine (II) weapons and armor within the Living Lands, particularly in Dawnshore, though these are rare. Fine (II) gear can drop from Level II enemies, especially Bounties. However, using Common gear against these enemies is less effective, so ensure you have plenty of health potions on hand.

You can also purchase Fine (II) gear from Merchants in Paradis. Access to Paradis becomes available shortly after defeating the Dreamscourge-infested bear boss in Dawnshore during the early stages of the Main Quest. In Paradis, a pair of sister Merchants near the Bounty Board offer Fine gear. Merlylin specializes in magical items like grimoires and wands, while her blacksmith sister provides more conventional weapons and armor, as shown in the image above.

That's everything you need to know about acquiring Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*. Stay equipped and ready for the challenges ahead!
