"Alan Wake 2 Not Available on Steam, Confirms Tim Sweeney"
It's not just Gabe Newell who's known for responding to emails, but not all news is good for those who reach out. A Reddit user recently shared a reply they received from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney. The player had sent an email with one simple question: when would Alan Wake 2 by Remedy be released on Steam?
Unfortunately for the gamer, Sweeney’s reply was short and to the point, stating only that the release on Steam won't happen, with no further comments. Disappointed, the user shared their intention to resort to plan B: purchasing the game on Xbox.

Alan Wake 2 stands out from most Epic Games Store exclusives because Epic Games not only published the horror title but also co-financed its development alongside Remedy. Remedy stated that the sales of Alan Wake 2 were in line with business forecasts and the studio was happy with this collaboration. However, Remedy’s future games will be self-published, meaning they will be released on platforms like Steam as well. Moreover, more than a year after its release, the horror game did not turn a profit.
