Details regarding the upcoming "Claws of Awaji" expansion for Assassin's Creed Shadows have seemingly leaked onto Steam. This first DLC for the feudal Japan-set title promises significant additions to the game.

Assassin's Creed Shadows, the franchise's first foray into East Asia, has had a turbulent development. After much anticipation, the game, featuring dual protagonists Yasuke and Naoe, navigating 16th-century Japan, has faced setbacks including negative reactions to character designs and multiple delays.

A recently deleted Steam update, as reported by Insider Gaming, revealed information about "Claws of Awaji." The leak suggests the expansion will introduce a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities, adding over 10 hours of gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the DLC and a bonus mission.

This leak follows the game's most recent delay. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, then pushed back to February 14, 2025, the release date has now been shifted again to March 20, 2025, for further polishing.
