Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio is Ubisoft Japan’s Most Popular Character

Ubisoft Japan recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with a character popularity contest, and the results are in! Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the iconic protagonist of the Assassin's Creed series, has been crowned the most beloved character. The online vote, which ran from November 1st, 2024, saw fans from across Japan selecting their top three favorite Ubisoft characters.

To mark Ezio's victory, Ubisoft Japan has released exclusive celebratory content. This includes new artwork featuring Ezio in a unique style, and four free downloadable wallpapers for PCs and smartphones. A lucky 30 fans will also receive a special acrylic stand set of Ezio, while 10 others will win a coveted 180cm Ezio body pillow.

The top ten characters were revealed, with Ezio leading the pack, followed by Aiden Pearce (Watch Dogs) in second and Edward Kenway (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag) in third. The full top ten list is as follows:

  1. Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, Liberation)
  2. Aiden Pearce (Watch Dogs)
  3. Edward James Kenway (Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag)
  4. Bayek (Assassin’s Creed Origins)
  5. Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (Assassin’s Creed)
  6. Wrench (Watch Dogs)
  7. Pagan Min (Far Cry)
  8. Eivor Varinsdottir (Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla)
  9. Kassandra (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey)
  10. Aaron Keener (The Division 2)

In a separate poll for most popular game franchise, Assassin's Creed also secured first place, outperforming Rainbow Six Siege and Watch Dogs. The Division and Far Cry rounded out the top five franchises.
