Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down

Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch.

The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation and is even preparing for its 1.5th-anniversary celebration in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's closure.

End of Service Date and Final Events:

The global server will officially shut down on March 28th, 2025, coinciding ironically with the Japanese server's anniversary. In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems. Koei Tecmo promises additional content and events leading up to the shutdown.

Reasons for Closure:

The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the closure. The game struggled to gain traction, facing criticism almost immediately after launch regarding its gacha system, gameplay mechanics, and aggressive monetization strategies. Power creep also contributed to player dissatisfaction.

A Final Farewell:

While the global version is ending, players can still access the game on the Google Play Store to enjoy any remaining content or say their final goodbyes. Meanwhile, those seeking a new mobile gaming experience might want to check out the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year event.
