Atomfall emphasizes player freedom, allowing you to select from five distinct playstyle modes when starting a new save, each designed to cater to different gameplay experiences:

• Sightseer – Ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in the story without the pressure of intense combat or survival challenges. Exploration, Survival, and Combat are all set to ‘Assisted’ difficulty.
• Investigator – Perfect for players who enjoy exploring independently without HUD assistance, while keeping combat manageable. Exploration is set to ‘Challenging’ difficulty, Survival to ‘Casual’, and Combat to ‘Assisted’.
• Brawler – Tailored for those who relish combat and don't mind facing tougher enemies. Combat is set to ‘Challenging’ difficulty, while Survival is ‘Casual’ and Exploration is ‘Assisted’.
• Survivor – Recommended by the developers, this mode offers a balanced challenge across all aspects. Combat, Survival, and Exploration are all set to ‘Challenging’ difficulty.
• Veteran – The ultimate test for seasoned players, with Combat, Survival, and Exploration all set to ‘Intense’ difficulty.

If you find your initial choice too challenging or too easy, you can easily adjust your playstyle. Simply pause the game, navigate to ‘Options’, and under the ‘Game’ tab, select ‘Playstyle’. Here, you can toggle the difficulty of Combat, Survival, and Exploration to align with one of the other playstyles. For even more granular control, head to ‘Advanced Options’ to fine-tune multiple aspects within each category.
