*Avowed* expands on the rich fantasy universe of Eora, first introduced in the *Pillars of Eternity* series. While the game features a variety of races known as Kith, the character creator offers a more limited selection. Here's a comprehensive look at the playable races in *Avowed*.

Humans (Known In-Universe as Folk)

Humans, referred to as Folk within *Avowed*, are the most common race in the game and the character creator. As part of the Kith group, which includes various sentient and civilized species, humans are versatile and adaptable. The character customization for humans is extensive, featuring numerous presets, a wide range of facial options, a skin tone slider, and diverse hair textures. This allows players to create a character that closely represents their vision or personal identity.

Elves

Elves are another selectable race in *Avowed*. They share a similar appearance to humans, with subtle differences in facial structure and the iconic long, pointed ears that distinguish them.

Godlikes

The third race option available in *Avowed* is Godlikes. Although all Envoys in the story are Godlike, players can decide whether to display these unique features. Godlikes offer distinctive hair and facial options ranging from subtle to surreal. At launch, players can choose from 14 different Godlike facial features and 4 unique hair styles, applicable to all character races and body types.

What Gender Options are Available in the Avowed Character Creator?

In *Avowed*, players can choose from four Body Types: two masculine and two feminine, available for both Humans and Elves. Additionally, there are two voice options for each gender. Players can also select their character's pronoun identifier, with options for "he," "she," or "they."

Several Races Present in Avowed Are Not Playable

While *Avowed* features a diverse array of Kith races among NPCs, such as Dwarves, the semiaquatic Aumaua, and the diminutive Orlans, these are not available for player character customization. However, future updates or DLC from Obsidian Entertainment might introduce additional race options for the character creator.
