Bandai Namco Ends Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage

Bandai Namco has officially announced the closure of Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, their fortress strategy action RPG. This news might not shock many fans, as it's another Bandai Namco gacha game calling it quits. This isn't the first time a Naruto gacha game has faced such a fate; remember Naruto Blazing, which also struggled with PvP issues and eventually shut down?

When Is Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Shutting Down?

Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, launched in 2017, is set to shut down on December 9th, 2024, after nearly seven years of service. Players can continue enjoying the game until the final day. Before the end-of-service (EOS), several events are scheduled: the Village Leader World Championship from October 8th to October 18th, followed by the All-Out Mission from October 18th to November 1st, and a 'Thanks For Everything' campaign from November 1st to December 1st to bid farewell.

Throughout this period, players can still collect Ninja Cards, engage in summoning events, and utilize in-game items until the very last day. If you've saved up Gold Coins, now's the time to spend them before they're gone.

What Went Wrong?

Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage started strong, allowing players to build their villages, set traps, and use their favorite Naruto characters for defense. However, issues arose about halfway through its lifespan. After the introduction of Minato, the game leaned heavily into the power creep trend, which was not well-received by the community. Additionally, pay-to-win elements became more prominent, free-to-play rewards were reduced, and multiplayer features nearly vanished.

These developments made it clear to many players that Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage's closure was inevitable. If you're curious, you can still try the game on the Google Play Store.
