Bethesda Voice Actor Shares Recovery Update
Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and many other titles, recently shared an emotional message as he recovers from a life-threatening incident. Johnson was found "barely alive" in his hotel room last week, leading to a critical health scare that saw him placed in a coma.
A heartfelt video message from Johnson was posted on a GoFundMe page, which has raised $174,653 to help cover his medical expenses and other bills. In the video, Johnson expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received, stating, "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there and I'm grateful to each and every one of you."
Johnson was in Atlanta to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer's Foundation. After checking into his hotel, he failed to appear at the event, prompting his wife, Kim Johnson, to alert the hotel. Security and emergency medical technicians were able to enter his room and found him in a critical state, struggling to find a pulse.

Reflecting on the severity of his condition, Johnson remarked, "Rumors of my demise, well they weren't exaggerated. It was very close, very close. But I'm still here." He credited his survival to the swift actions of his wife and son, who contacted hotel security, leading to his timely rescue and subsequent hospitalization.
Johnson expressed deep gratitude towards his friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, along with his wife Kim, for initiating the GoFundMe campaign. He also thanked the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family during this ordeal and Ted Leonsis, chairman of the Washington Capitals parent company, for a generous donation of $25,000.
Bethesda, where Johnson has lent his voice to numerous beloved characters, also showed their support via social media. Johnson responded with heartfelt thanks, affirming his enduring friendship and appreciation, "You say that I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys."
To his fans, both those who donated and those who offered their support in other ways, Johnson expressed his love and determination to recover, saying, "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere. It's going to be a while as I work my way back but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and having you all hear me then. Cheers."
Throughout his career, Johnson has voiced numerous characters in Bethesda games, including Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among others. He has also made appearances in various film and television roles.
