Blue Protocol: Global Release Cancelled, Japan Servers Shutting Down

Player Compensation and Final Updates

Blue Protocol Global Release Canceled as Japan Servers Close DownBandai Namco's announcement confirms the end of Blue Protocol's Japanese service on January 18, 2025, effectively canceling the planned global launch with Amazon Games. The company cited its inability to deliver a consistently satisfying player experience as the reason for closure. In a formal statement, Bandai expressed regret for the cancellation, highlighting the challenges in meeting player expectations.

To compensate players, Bandai will provide ongoing support with updates and new content until the final shutdown. While Rose Orbs will no longer be sold or refunded, players will receive 5,000 Rose Orbs monthly (starting September 2024) and 250 daily. Furthermore, the Season 9 pass will be free, and Chapter 7, the final update, is slated for release on December 18, 2024.

Blue Protocol Global Release Canceled as Japan Servers Close DownInitially launched in Japan in June 2023, Blue Protocol attracted over 200,000 concurrent players. However, significant server issues at launch, followed by declining player numbers and dissatisfaction, led to the game's underperformance. This underperformance, previously hinted at in Bandai Namco's March 31, 2024 financial report, ultimately led to the decision to terminate service.

Despite its promising debut, Blue Protocol failed to retain its player base and meet financial projections, resulting in the unfortunate cancellation of the global release and the closure of its Japanese servers.
