Exciting news has emerged for fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as Season 2 approaches, bringing a host of new features to the beloved Zombies mode. This update, teased recently, promises to elevate the gameplay experience significantly.
Since its inception in World at War over a decade ago, Zombies has remained a cornerstone of the Call of Duty franchise. In Black Ops 6, Treyarch continues to enrich the mode with new, immersive locations and significant enhancements. The upcoming Season 2 update is no exception, bringing a range of updates for both multiplayer and Zombies enthusiasts.
While multiplayer will see substantial changes, Zombies mode is set to receive a suite of new features designed to improve gameplay and address long-standing player requests. One of the most anticipated additions is the co-op pause option, which allows players in the same party to pause the game together. This feature, highly requested since the game's launch, will enable players to strategize or take breaks during intense rounds.
Call of Duty Reveals Black Ops 6 Zombies Changes for Season 2
Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (Zombies and Multiplayer)
- Players can manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and 10 Camo Challenges per mode, making it easier to monitor progress.
- If fewer than 10 challenges are tracked, the system will display the nearest challenges to completion in those slots, helping players identify and complete challenges more efficiently.
- The top Tracked or Near Completion Calling Card Challenge and Camo Challenge will appear in the Lobby and in-game via the Options Menu.
Co-op Pause
- In matches where all players are in the same party, the party leader can pause the game, allowing time for strategy discussions or breaks during high-round runs. This feature, requested since launch, will be introduced in Season 2.
AFK Kick Loadout Recovery
- Players kicked for inactivity can now rejoin the game and recover their original loadout, minimizing the frustration of losing progress due to being booted.
Separate HUD Presets for Zombies and Multiplayer
- Players can now set up distinct HUD Preset settings for Zombies and multiplayer, eliminating the need to adjust settings when switching between modes. This feature was delayed due to higher priorities but is now set to enhance the user experience.
Alongside the co-op pause, the "AFK Kick Loadout Recovery" feature will allow players who are kicked for inactivity to rejoin and retain their original loadout. Given the importance of progression in Zombies, this update will reduce the frustration of losing weapons, perks, and points unexpectedly.
Additionally, players will soon be able to customize separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies, streamlining the transition between modes. The ability to track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and Camo Challenges for both modes will also make progressing through Black Ops 6's extensive collection of challenges more manageable and enjoyable.
