Call of Duty: Warzone Experiencing Lobby Crashing Issue

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still in development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

The Problem: Warzone players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, beginning in early January. This issue, tracked on the developer's Trello board, caused frustration due to the resulting penalties.

The Developer Response: Following player complaints, Raven Software, the developer, announced on January 9th that Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts would be temporarily suspended for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the unfair penalties caused by the bug. Penalties for leaving mid-match remain in effect.

The Impact: Although the underlying bug persists, the temporary suspension of penalties mitigates the immediate impact on players. However, the continued presence of bugs, even after a major update in early January 2025, remains a concern for the community. The situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the development team in maintaining a stable and fair gaming experience. The hope is for a swift and permanent resolution to these persistent issues.
