Resident Evil Titles Headed to Switch 2 in 2026

Capcom made a surprising appearance at today's September 2025 Nintendo Direct, announcing that Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Resident Evil Village are all coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.

The latest three mainline Resident Evil titles were featured in the Direct, with all three slated for release on the Switch 2 on February 27, 2026. While Biohazard and Village are already familiar to players, the new trailer also offered a fresh glimpse of gameplay for Requiem, which will launch on other platforms the same day.

"Face terror like never before in the ninth spine-chilling chapter of the Resident Evil saga," reads the official description. "Journey back to a devastated and deserted Raccoon City in a gripping survival horror adventure, complete with the series' signature combat, investigation, puzzles, and resource management."

With the launch still months away, much remains to be unveiled about Resident Evil Requiem. However, we had the chance to go hands-on with the game just a few weeks ago and followed up with an in-depth interview with the Capcom development team.

We will learn more about Resident Evil Requiem upon its February release. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 ports of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village will be the Gold Edition versions, providing players with all additional content.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil 8: Village, and Resident Evil 9: Requiem arrive on the Switch 2 early next year. While we await any news on Leon S. Kennedy, you can view the full list of announcements from the September 2025 Nintendo Direct here.
