The developers at Firaxis Games have shared their roadmap for Civ 7 just days before its release, promising a slew of new content rolling out in March. The updates are neatly categorized into three types: Content Collections (paid DLCs), Free Updates, and Events & Challenges. Here's what players can look forward to in March:

Looking beyond March, Firaxis has teased the addition of 2 new Leaders, 4 new Civilizations, and 4 World Wonders, along with new events and challenges for players to dive into. While the specific release window for these exciting additions remains under wraps, the developers have assured fans that more content is slated for release starting in October 2025 and beyond.

Firaxis also shared a glimpse into future updates that "didn’t quite make it in for our initial launch." Although no release dates have been set, the team is already working hard to bring these features to players as soon as possible. Here's what's on the list:

  • Adding Teams to multiplayer
  • Expanding the number of players in multiplayer mode to 8
  • Allowing players to pick "starting and ending Age"
  • Creating "a wider variety of map types"
  • Adding hotseat in multiplayer
