Civilization VI on Android Now Includes All Units, Maps

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI on Android is set to receive a comprehensive update, ending a lengthy wait for mobile players. This release will align the Android edition with all other platforms in content, features, and gameplay refinements. The substantial update arrives on June 12th, delivering all current units to Civilization VI on Android.

New Units, Maps, Modes, and a Host of Improvements

Aspyr is deploying this significant update to provide mobile users with a more complete and satisfying Civ VI experience. The game welcomes three new military units. First is the Trebuchet, a formidable Medieval-era siege unit. It represents a major advancement over the Catapult and later upgrades to the Bombard.

Next is the Man-At-Arms, which evolves from the Swordsman and eventually becomes the Musketman. The Line Infantry also joins the roster as an Industrial-era unit, serving as the successor to the Musketman and preceding the modern Infantry.

Players will gain access to two expansive new maps: the Mediterranean Large Map and the Earth Huge Map. Both feature more authentic terrain and resource distributions. Additionally, each map offers a variant that allows you to begin the game at the historical capital of your selected civilization.

New gameplay modes include the Tech and Civic Shuffle Mode, which randomizes technologies and civics within each era to create fresh strategic pathways. The Barbarian Clans Mode overhauls the Barbarian system, replacing standard tribes with seven unique clans that have the potential to develop into full-fledged City-States.

Beyond new units, two helpful customization features are being introduced: the Natural Wonder Picker and the City-State Picker. These tools let you curate which wonders and city-states will appear in your game world.

Furthermore, the new Leader Selection Pool offers a handpicked list of leaders to choose from at game setup, now also including the legendary Julius Caesar.

Civilization VI on Android to Feature Two New Passes Alongside Full Content

The June 12th update brings even more content. Android users will, for the first time, have the opportunity to purchase the New Frontier Pass and the Leader Pass. The New Frontier Pass is priced at $29.99 and enriches the game with eight new civilizations, nine new leaders, and six distinctive game modes.

The Leader Pass will be available for $19.99, adding 12 brand-new leaders alongside six alternate versions of familiar classic leaders. These expansions have been enjoyed on other platforms for some time.
