Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is facing a significant downturn, according to prominent figures in the gaming community. Popular streamers and YouTubers are reporting a dramatic decline in player engagement, with some abandoning content creation for the Activision title altogether. Even legendary competitive players are expressing serious concerns.

OpTic Scump, a Call of Duty icon, has declared the franchise to be in its worst state ever. He attributes this largely to the premature release of the ranked mode, coupled with a malfunctioning anti-cheat system that has resulted in rampant cheating.

The situation is further exacerbated by streamer FaZe Swagg's on-stream rage quit due to connectivity problems, leading him to switch to Marvel Rivals. His stream even included a live counter showcasing the sheer number of cheaters encountered.

Adding to the woes is the significant nerfing of the zombies mode, hindering the acquisition of desirable camouflage skins, and a perceived oversaturation of cosmetic items. Critics argue that Activision has prioritized monetization over substantive game improvements. Considering the massive budgets previously allocated to the Call of Duty franchise, the current state is both unsurprising and alarming. Player patience is finite, and the game appears to be teetering on the brink of a major crisis.
