Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era
Embarking on your journey as a Hollow begins as a Soul Spirit. At this crucial juncture, you face a pivotal choice: to ascend as a Shinigami or descend into the darkness as a Hollow. Choosing the latter requires you to break all the links on your chain, a process that naturally occurs every two minutes, leading to your transformation into a Hollow effortlessly.
Warning: Before you dive deeper into your Hollow Era journey, be aware that playing as a Hollow can feel monotonous compared to the Shinigami path. While Hollows exude a cool factor, they demand extensive grinding and repetitive kills. Aspiring to reach the prestigious ranks of Vasto Lorde or Espada requires a significant time investment in tedious tasks.
Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era
Your next goal is to evolve into a Gillian, a process that involves relentless grinding by eliminating and consuming other Hollows. Reaching level 15 marks your transformation into a Gillian, but at level 10, you unlock the ability to access Hueco Mundo through a Garganta gateway, simplifying your hunt for Hollows.
As a Hollow, you'll face attacks from both Shinigami and other Hollows, a contrast to the safer path of a Soul Reaper (Shinigami). For those interested in the Shinigami route, our comprehensive Shinigami progression guide is available here.
Gillian Form in the Hollow Era
Transforming into a Gillian signifies a new phase where your primary task is to continue eliminating Hollows and engage with Hollow Pillars scattered across Hueco Mundo. Accumulating enough Progression Points will transport you to your inner world, where you must defeat five tougher Hollows three times to ascend to an Adjucha.
These inner world Hollows are significantly tougher, but don't fear death; you can retry this challenge as many times as needed.
Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era
Reaching the Adjucha form opens up intriguing paths: you can choose to progress as a Vasto Lorde or an Arrancar. Let's explore the Arrancar route first.
Arrancar Progression
To become an Arrancar, seek out a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, which spawns every 30 to 60 minutes, with an average of 45 minutes. Interacting with it triggers your transformation into an Arrancar, granting you access to Hueco Mundo via a keybind. Here's a list of all Arrancar Ressurections in Hollow Era.
Reaching level 50 allows you to pursue your Resurrección, but for now, Arrancars are limited to Kendo skills. We anticipate more skills to be added in future updates.
Vasto Lorde Progression
Opting for the Vasto Lorde path requires continued elimination and consumption of Hollows for Progression Points. Be cautious, as death results in a 1% loss of these points. Many players remain stuck as Adjucha due to the grind's intensity. To ascend to Vasto Lorde, you'll need 800 Progression Points, earned as follows:
- Hollow: 1 Point
- Gillian: 6 Points
- Adjucha: 4 Points
- Vasto Lorde: 8 Points
- Arrancar: 8 Points
- Espada: 10 Points
Vasto Lorde Form in the Hollow Era
Achieving Vasto Lorde status is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You'll need to gather 800 race Progression Points and collect all Hollow Items, which have varying drop rates. Here's a breakdown of the items and their sources:
- Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed)
- Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
- Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength)
- Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era
If you're on the Vasto Lorde path, your next step is to evolve into an Espada. The process mirrors becoming an Arrancar: locate a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo and interact with it.
To spot a Crystal Bush more easily, disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field in your settings, then survey the area from a high vantage point.
How to Get Your Resurrección
As an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to obtain your Resurrección. First, reach level 50, then visit Hueco Mundo and speak with Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo.
Isen will task you with defeating 50 Arrancars. Upon completion, you can activate your Resurrección when your Rage Bar is fully charged and pulsating. Fill your Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default keybind for Resurrección is "Y", and it deactivates when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Playing as a Hollow may seem more appealing, but it's less versatile than the Shinigami path. Prepare for extensive grinding and be ready to face attacks from both Hollows and Shinigami. If combat becomes overwhelming, use the lockup button to focus on your primary target, especially useful during laggy moments or when stuck in a glitchy situation.
Mastering how to block enemy attacks is crucial, as even low-level foes can deal significant damage, and your health regeneration is slow. Death results in minor monetary loss, but the real challenge is navigating back to your quest targets. Consider investing in bus teleport to save time and effort.
When allocating Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed initially, regardless of your chosen race. While Sword, Vitality, and Reiatsu are tempting, focusing on damage output and mobility is key in the early stages.
For better navigation, press and hold J (default keybind) to reveal markers around Karakura using your Reiatsu sense.
This concludes our Hollow Era Hollow progression guide. Keep in mind that the game is still in development, and you may encounter bugs and lag, even on high-performance PCs. Before starting your journey, make sure to redeem your Hollow Era codes to give yourself a boost, as this game presents a challenging experience.
