"The Last of Us Complete Surprises PS5 Users with Launch Bundle"
Naughty Dog has re-released both of its critically acclaimed The Last of Us games in a comprehensive bundle for PlayStation 5 (PS5), titled The Last of Us Complete. Known for creating beloved PlayStation franchises like Crash Bandicoot and Uncharted, the studio announced and launched this two-in-one collection today.
This bundle combines the 2022 remake of The Last of Us Part 1 with the remastered version of The Last of Us Part 2. Players can now enjoy both games in one package, featuring enhanced graphics and gameplay mechanics tailored to the PS5 platform. An official description highlights the inclusion of definitive versions of these award-winning titles, boasting improvements made possible by the PS5’s advanced hardware.
Release Date: July 10
At $99.99, The Last of Us Complete offers both main storylines along with all additional content released since their initial launches. This includes the fan-favorite Left Behind Ellie-centric prequel DLC and The Last of Us Part 2's No Return and Lost Levels expansions. For fans of the HBO adaptation starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey who haven’t yet explored the source material, this digital bundle provides a perfect entry point.
A limited Collector’s Edition will also release on July 10 for $109.99, available for pre-order now. Priced slightly higher, this version includes exclusive extras such as a Steelbook case, game discs, The Last of Us: American Dreams comics (issues 1–4), four lithographic art prints, and a heartfelt thank-you letter from Naughty Dog Head of Studio Neil Druckmann.
In a recent PlayStation.Blog post, Druckmann expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from fans over the years. He noted, “We are so humbled by your personal stories of what the series has meant to you, have marveled at your incredible Photo Mode shots, and are inspired to keep pushing ourselves forward to create more stories and worlds you’ll love.”
The Last of Us originally debuted on PS3 in 2013, with subsequent updates including enhanced graphics for PS4 in 2014 and a full remake for PS5 in 2022. The Last of Us Part 2 followed in 2020, later receiving its own remastered version earlier this year. Both games are also available on PC, with The Last of Us Part 1 launching in 2023 and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered released just last week.
With The Last of Us Complete, Naughty Dog has consolidated its post-apocalyptic saga under one roof yet again. Coinciding with the upcoming second season of HBO’s The Last of Us, set to premiere this Sunday, and the recent greenlight for a third season, fans can expect continued engagement with Joel and Ellie’s world. For more insights, explore why a Part 3 seems unlikely anytime soon and how the creative team might expand the narrative moving forward.
