Vintage Concord Plaque Worth $3K Donated to Goodwill

by Elijah Nov 09,2025

A commemorative plaque marking the launch of Sony's troubled shooter Concord is now being auctioned on Goodwill's online store, with bids surpassing $3,000.

The plaque, awarded to Chelsea Grace of "funding Freegunner, Northstar Crew," commemorates the "global Concord launch" on August 23, 2024. Grace was credited as outsourcing and co-development lead, though it's unclear whether she personally donated the plaque or if it was lost and donated after PlayStation closed developer Firewalk Studios late last year.

Concord, Firewalk Studios' live-service hero shooter under Sony, stands as one of PlayStation's most significant commercial failures. Sony shut down the servers just two weeks post-launch amid dismal player numbers, with estimates suggesting barely 25,000 copies sold. Our review awarded Concord a 7/10, noting: "While not the most groundbreaking hero shooter, Concord delivered engaging competitive gameplay, 16 distinctive characters, and 12 well-crafted maps—elements that could have sustained long-term success."

Collectors and fans clearly see value in this plaque, evidenced by its current $3,002 bid (via Dexerto). Proceeds benefit Goodwill, supporting job training and career development programs that have assisted over 25 million people.

Tim Miller, creator of Amazon Prime Video's Secret Level, publicly addressed Concord's shutdown last November: "It's baffling why it failed—they were a skilled team giving their best. I'm truly gutted for them."

Sony's costly misstep involved a $200 million initial development deal that neither covered full production costs nor included Concord's IP rights or Firewalk Studios' acquisition. Firewalk's former parent company, ProbablyMonsters, reportedly raised $200 million in 2021.
