Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing several titles. Following their deck-building game Zoeti, they've launched The Darkside Detective, a puzzle game, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available simultaneously!).

Exploring the Quirky World of The Darkside Detective

The game begins on a gloomy, fog-shrouded night in Twin Lakes, a city where the unusual, eerie, and outright absurd are commonplace. The protagonists are Detective Francis McQueen and his partner, the endearingly clumsy Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, the underfunded unit of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll solve nine short cases with them, delving into the humorous and bizarre universe of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

In these point-and-click adventures, you'll encounter a variety of challenges, from time-travel puzzles and flesh-eating tentacles to uncovering carnival secrets and mafia zombies. See the trailer below for a glimpse of the gameplay!

The game is a fun tribute to pop culture, referencing classic horror films, sci-fi series, and buddy cop movies. The cases themselves boast intriguing titles, such as "Malice in Wonderland," "Tome Alone," "Disorient Express," "Police Farce," "Don of the Dead," "Buy Hard," and "Baits Motel."

A standout feature is the game's clever humor woven into every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. You can also play A Fumble in the Dark without playing the first game; it's also available on Google Play.
