Dead Cells Updates Postponed: Expansion to Arrive in 2023
Dead Cells Mobile's final free updates delayed, arriving February 18th, 2025
The much-anticipated final two free updates for Dead Cells on mobile, "Clean Cut" and "The End is Near," have been delayed, but now have a confirmed release date: February 18th, 2025. This news comes from developer Playdigious.
Both updates, already released on console and PC, will introduce significant new content. "Clean Cut" features two new weapons: the Sewing Scissors (survival-focused) and the Giant Comb (brutality-focused). A new NPC, the Tailor's Daughter, allows players to customize their character's appearance.
"The End is Near" brings a trio of challenging new enemies: the Sore Loser, Curser, and Doom Bringer. Players can also look forward to new skills and colorless mutations, such as Demonic Strength, a powerful mutation that increases damage based on curse stacks.
A fitting conclusion to generous support
Playdigious has consistently provided substantial free content for Dead Cells. While the announcement of the end of these free updates initially drew criticism, the developer has earned a well-deserved break after this extensive post-launch support.
The final updates will launch simultaneously on Android and iOS on February 18th, 2025.
New players are encouraged to consult a Dead Cells weapon tier list before diving into the challenging gameplay to better prepare for the game's brutal combat.
