Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2

Deltarune will launch on Switch 2, as revealed in the April 2 Nintendo Direct. This version will include Chapters 3 and 4, along with unique features designed specifically for the next-gen console.

According to a Fangamer newsletter from Deltarune creator Toby Fox, the Switch 2 edition will feature a special room that leverages mouse controls across two Joy-Cons simultaneously—something only possible on Nintendo Switch 2. Fox said, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"

Players using non-Switch 2 systems will still have access to this room, but with a completely different control setup. Save data from the Nintendo Switch demos of Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2 can also be imported into the full release.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

Fox confirmed in the newsletter that Deltarune will retail for $24.99, including Chapters 1 and 2, plus the new Chapters 3 and 4. Chapter 1 debuted in 2018 and Chapter 2 followed in 2021—both originally released for free. While earlier updates suggested Chapters 3–5 would be paid content, Fox has now announced that future chapters will be added at no extra cost.

He added, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

The game’s soundtrack will also be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 tracks from Chapters 3 and 4. Additional songs from future chapters will be added to the soundtrack for free. Deltarune aims to deliver exceptional value by offering future content at no extra charge.

DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 will launch on June 5, 2025 alongside the Switch 2. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. For the latest updates on the game, explore our article below!
