The Developers of Streets of Rage 4 Have Announced Their New Game

Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum—a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the ravaged world of Talamh, which has been scarred by a magical cataclysm, the game explores a society where magic is feared and mages are enslaved by the tyrannical King-Sun Azra and his oppressive Crimson Order. A band of courageous heroes emerges to challenge his rule, featuring the necromancer Galandra, the rebel gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr.

Players will dive into intense action, wielding upgradable abilities, executing powerful combos, and casting magical spells. Absolum offers both single-player and cooperative modes, allowing players to team up, combine their attacks, and synchronize their strikes to unleash devastating combinations.

The game's immersive soundtrack is being composed by a trio of legendary artists: Gareth Coker, renowned for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, celebrated for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundscapes of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
