Development of Crysis 4 Temporarily Paused Due to Financial Difficulties
Crytek announced a restructuring plan involving staff reductions. Facing financial difficulties, the company is laying off approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce.
Concurrently, Crytek revealed that development of the next Crysis game has been temporarily suspended, a decision made in Q3 2024. The studio is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
Internal efforts to reassign staff to existing projects, including Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the upcoming Crysis title, proved unsuccessful. Despite cost-cutting measures, layoffs were deemed necessary.

Crytek's future plans prioritize expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, while the new Crysis game is indefinitely delayed. Affected employees will receive severance and career support.
Crytek remains positive about its long-term prospects, emphasizing continued development of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and its CRYENGINE technology.
