Infinite Damage Exploit with Boss Powers Causes Server Lag

The latest Diablo 4 season introduces new seasonal boss powers, which, when correctly combined, can create an infinite damage loop that slows down game servers. YouTuber Macrobioboi demonstrated this powerful setup in a video on May 9th, showing how it annihilates entire rooms of enemies using specific boss powers and a Legendary Aspect.

To achieve this effect, players must equip the Vampiric Curse Legendary Aspect on their gear. This Aspect applies a Vulnerable status to enemies, boosting damage, but crucially, the vulnerability lasts until the enemy is defeated.

Simultaneously, the Flesh Reaper's Disruption boss power attempts to stun the enemy and remove the Vulnerable status. However, due to Vampiric Curse's effect, the vulnerability cannot be removed, causing the stun effect to trigger repeatedly. Rounding out the build is Varshan's Life Steal boss power, which deals massive damage each time a boss power is activated.

When used together, the game must process an overwhelming number of these event calculations, resulting in significant server lag. As seen in wudijo’s YouTube video, the screen becomes flooded with a staggering number of skill effects, leaving enemies permanently stunned. He noted, "There are a lot of calculations going on; it's very understandable that this is a laggy build."

Blizzard Entertainment has not yet addressed this resource-intensive exploit, meaning players can still use it to defeat hordes of enemies at the cost of game performance.

Fans Concerned Over Berserk Collaboration Prices

In other news, Diablo 4 is currently running a collaboration with the iconic manga series, Berserk. This crossover event brings popular Berserk-themed cosmetics and items into the game. However, fans are hesitant to purchase these sets due to their steep pricing.

Not all items require real money. Players can earn in-game Behelits and spend them at the free Berserk Reliquary for items like:

 ● Hawk's Destiny Back Trophy
 ● Skull Knight’s Heraldry Mount Armor
 ● Brand of Sacrifice Marking
 ● Foretold Eclipse Headstone
 ● Od of the Berserker Emblem

While these free rewards are appealing, the core of the collaboration is found in the premium sets, which must be purchased with Diablo 4's Platinum currency. These include classic armors and sets from Berserk, such as:

 ● The Berserker Armor (Barbarian) - 2,800 Platinum
 ● The Hawk of Light (Rogue) - 2,800 Platinum
 ● The Struggler (Rogue) - 2,800 Platinum
 ● The Skull Knight (Necromancer) - 2,800 Platinum
 ● The Schnoz (Pet Bundle) - 2,800 Platinum
 ● Warhorse of the Hawk (Mount & Armor) - 2,500 Platinum

Each premium cosmetic costs around $28, nearly half the price of the base game itself. Purchasing the entire collection totals around $150, or a 15,000 Platinum bundle that includes a bonus 3,500 Platinum.

While the pricing is high, it's not unprecedented, as Diablo 4 followed a similar model for its previous World of Warcraft collaboration. This may signal the pricing strategy for future crossovers, potentially making fan-favorite events expensive for players.

Despite the top-notch quality of the Berserk sets, many fans are reconsidering their purchase due to the significant cost. Diablo IV is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For the latest updates, check out our article below!
