"Dreadmoor: New PC Game Blends Fishing with Post-Apocalyptic Mystery"

by Christian Apr 22,2025

Developer Dream Dock has unveiled *Dreadmoor*, an eagerly anticipated first-person single-player action-adventure game that draws inspiration from the 2023 hit *Dredge*. In *Dreadmoor*, players will take on the role of a fisherman navigating the treacherous waters of a post-apocalyptic world known as the Drownlands. The game is currently in development for PC, and fans can get a sneak peek through the announcement trailer and the first set of screenshots showcased in the gallery below.

Dream Dock describes *Dreadmoor* as an immersive experience where you step into the shoes of a trawler captain in a world reshaped by a global nuclear war. Continents have vanished beneath the waves, leaving behind a fragmented landscape of islands and the submerged ruins of ancient civilizations. Players will engage in fishing, selling their catch to survivors, and completing quests to ensure their survival. However, it's not just about the catch—players must also manage their ship’s cargo hold, as creatures within may start feasting on each other. To delve deeper into the mysteries of the Drownlands, players will need to upgrade their ship and craft essential equipment. The game promises encounters with mutated creatures and sinister enigmas lurking in the deep waters and abandoned structures, with heightened dangers at night due to radiation.

*Dreadmoor* offers an expansive fishing experience with over 100 species of fish to catch. The deepest and most challenging catches will demand the most unusual bait but offer the most substantial rewards. Players will also scavenge for resources and explore both the surface and the submerged world below. If you're excited about this thrilling new adventure, you can wishlist *Dreadmoor* on Steam to stay updated on its development.
