"Drive with Your Eyes: Open Drive Launches Early Access on Android"
Open Drive, a groundbreaking mobile racing game, is now available in early access on Android. Developed by SpecialEffect, a charity dedicated to helping physically disabled players enjoy video games, in collaboration with Sun & Moon Studios, Open Drive is more than just a game—it's a testament to inclusive gaming.
What’s the Game About?
Open Drive is designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their input method. Whether you prefer touch, keyboard and mouse, switch access, or a controller, the game adapts to your needs. A standout feature is its mobile-specific eye control, allowing players with physical challenges to steer their vehicle simply by looking left or right, thanks to a compatible eye gaze camera. This inclusivity extends across all four of the game's diverse open worlds: Stunt, Speed, Snow, and Meadow.
The gameplay in Open Drive is incredibly versatile. You can leisurely drive around collecting orbs or aim for high scores with daring jumps using the Roadster, Trickster, or Speedster vehicles. The game also lets you adjust the speed to your preference, making it suitable for all types of players. Check out the early access announcement trailers below to get a glimpse of the action.
Open Drive Is Now Out in Early Access
Open Drive seamlessly auto-detects and adjusts to your chosen control method. Switch Access on Android is fully supported, offering a highly inclusive gaming experience. Each input method, including touch, switch access, mouse, keyboard, and Android-compatible gamepads/controllers, comes with tailored setups. For touch controls, you can choose between 'Precise' and 'Classic' modes, allowing for varied steering methods.
Currently available in early access on Android, the eye control feature is not yet fully implemented but will be part of the free full version expected later this summer. You can explore Open Drive now on the Google Play Store to see if it piques your interest.
