Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Preparation
The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the acclaimed Dark and Darker, have officially announced the termination of support and the impending closure of the game's servers. Despite an initial buzz among fans of the genre, Dungeonborne struggled to maintain player engagement, ultimately succumbing to low activity and a lack of substantial updates within less than a year of its launch.
Although the game's page remains available on Steam, it has been removed from search results and can now only be accessed through a direct link. While the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, it's evident that the dwindling player base was a significant factor. Since the latter part of 2024, Dungeonborne consistently saw fewer than 200 concurrent players, with recent activity plummeting to a mere 10-15 players.
The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled for permanent closure on May 28, signaling the end of the project's journey. What began with promise will now fade into gaming history, unable to fulfill its potential.
