EA Says Madden and FC Might Find ‘Real Energy’ on Nintendo Switch 2

EA is reportedly planning to bring many of its popular games to the Nintendo Switch 2. During a recent financial call, CEO Andrew Wilson hinted at the release of several EA titles on the upcoming console, highlighting the potential success of its sports franchises, Madden and EA SPORTS FC, along with The Sims. Wilson emphasized the opportunity to reach new players with these titles, referencing the strong performance of The Sims on previous Nintendo platforms, where a significant portion of players were new to EA. While specific details remain unconfirmed, EA anticipates that the Switch 2's launch will provide a valuable opportunity to expand its player base.

The announcement of Madden and EA SPORTS FC on the Switch 2 is unsurprising, but the versions remain a point of speculation. EA has historically released "legacy" versions of FIFA on the Switch, but recent efforts have focused on feature parity for the EA SPORTS FC franchise. Given the Switch 2's increased power, future iterations like EA SPORTS FC 26 could potentially offer a gaming experience closer to that of PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions.

The Switch 2's game lineup is steadily taking shape. Numerous third-party titles are rumored, including Civilization VII, which its developer Firaxis finds intriguing due to the console's reported Joy-Con mouse mode. Nacon, a prominent publisher, has confirmed its readiness to launch titles on the platform. Highly anticipated games like Hollow Knight: Silksong are also rumored for release. Nintendo itself has confirmed a new Mario Kart is in development, with further details expected at a Nintendo Direct in April.
