EA Sports FC 25: Gameplay Revolution

EA Sports FC 25 faced significant criticism upon release, extending beyond monetization concerns to encompass its technical state. Player reviews were overwhelmingly negative, with only 36% of the 474 initial reviews expressing positivity. Common complaints included numerous bugs and crashes, difficulties with PlayStation controller recognition, and perceived corporate greed. The game's anti-cheat measures further exacerbated the situation, resulting in incompatibility with the Steam Deck.

In response to this backlash, EA has released a "Gameplay Refresh Update" featuring over 50 changes. These adjustments target core gameplay mechanics, including: assists, shooting, goalkeeping, and defending. Specific improvements address issues such as defenders consistently catching up to ball carriers, smoother attacking ball movement, reduced AI reverse tackles and interceptions, decreased effectiveness of crossing passes, quicker support from players in familiar roles, improved offside detection for AI attackers, and slightly increased accuracy of long-range shots.
