Fell Omen’s Surprise Invasions Return in Elden Ring Nightreign

by Olivia Jul 31,2025

The Fell Omen bosses in Elden Ring have earned their notorious reputation, and with Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware has unleashed them across the Lands Between.

Morgott, a formidable boss encountered later in Elden Ring’s campaign, is a prime example. His phantom forms can ambush players unexpectedly throughout the game, and this dynamic feature carries over to Nightreign, where an enhanced Fell Omen, essentially an upgraded Morgott, delivers startling invasion encounters.

While Morgott isn’t the only boss invading squads in Nightreign, his presence is particularly apt. His surprise attacks echo his Elden Ring appearances, now enhanced with new voice lines and additional moves to challenge players. If you bring two companions to the fight, it’s only fair Morgott gets an upgrade too!

Beyond invasions, the Fell Omen can also emerge as a climactic end-of-night boss, one of the final challenges as the sun sets in the Elden Ring Nightreign test.

Numerous early testers, including the player known as Let Me Solo Her, faced the Fell Omen during Elden Ring Nightreign sessions over the weekend. The verdict? Morgott, also known as Margit or Fell Omen, is a relentless adversary.

A player on the Elden Ring Nightreign subreddit praised Morgott’s invasion mechanic as a highlight, with others sharing tales of ambushes in elevators, towers, or elsewhere, often with amusing outcomes.

The Fell Omen’s sudden invasions spark excitement for other potential surprise enemies. The Pursuer from Dark Souls 2, for instance, would be a thrilling addition. Personally, I’d love to see Hunters from Bloodborne invade, though that seems a distant dream.

Fell Omen invasions may involve deeper mechanics. GamesRadar reported an invasion that felled a co-op partner, leaving a curse mark on the defeated player. It will be intriguing to see how this evolves as more players experience Nightreign.

Despite server issues during the first network test, many players explored the Lands Between over the weekend. We’ll need to wait until May 30 to see Nightreign’s full scope, but for now, check out our hands-on impressions of Elden Ring Nightreign here.
