Elden Ring Update Focuses on Console Testing
FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially be tested only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Registration opens January 10th, with testing in February. This excludes a large portion of the fanbase from early access.
Bandai Namco hasn't publicly explained the omission of PC players from this initial test phase. However, those selected for console testing will get a first look before the official launch.
Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the story of the original Elden Ring, offering new challenges within a dark and unsettling world. While console players enjoy early access, PC gamers will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.
A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified that the approximately forty-minute test sessions don't allow sufficient time for message interaction. He stated, "We removed the messaging feature due to the limited time available for sending and reading messages within the roughly forty-minute sessions."
