Marvel Contest of Champions is rolling out an array of thrilling updates for April, spotlighting the debut of the new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, Kabam introduces a contrasting character, promising a diverse gaming experience.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering event when she was exposed to uranium as a child near her home. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a unique blend of spider DNA. After years of battling the side effects, Jessica not only recovered but emerged with spider-like abilities, eventually adopting the moniker Spider-Woman. Players can add this formidable champion to their roster starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman's arrival, another intriguing champion, Lumatrix, will make his debut on April 9th. Designed by the Founders as a lethal assassin, Lumatrix specializes in stealth and assassination, utilizing his distinctive light-based powers to devastating effect.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, dubbed "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina gravely injured after a confrontation with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom aligns with the Fantastic Four amidst the escalating threat of Chronoserpent corruption, introducing a new villain, Lotan, to the fray.

Starting April 9th and lasting until May 7th, a new Event Quest named "Spy Games" will captivate players. Black Widow, investigating the enigmatic Eidols, recruits Spider-Woman to unravel the mystery.

Dark Phoenix makes a dramatic return in the Side Quest "Dark Bounties," placing bounties on various champions. Players must hunt them down to claim their rewards.

The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" also returns, challenging players to assemble their top Saga champions to battle for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
