Mastering Fishing in Rune Slayer: A Comprehensive Guide

Doubt Rune Slayer isn't an MMORPG? Its fishing mechanic settles that debate! This guide clarifies the often-confusing fishing process.

Recommended Pre-Fishing Steps

Begin by accepting Simon the Fisherman's quest (located at a pier near Barracuda). He requests five "fish" in exchange for a Tackle Box (the quotation marks will become clear later).

Crucially, you need a fishing rod and bait. Conveniently, Simon sells these!

Purchase a Wood Fishing Rod and Worms from Simon. Five worms are the minimum, but ten are recommended. The bait doesn't equip; it simply resides in your inventory. Each successful catch consumes one worm. Importantly, having at least five worms seems essential for catching anything. Place the worms in your hotbar for easy tracking.

The Fishing Process

Select your Wood Fishing Rod (no equipping needed; place it in your hotbar). Hold M1 to cast your line into the water (the pier near Simon works well).

Watch the bobber. One or two ripples signal a bite. Click M1 again to reel in your catch.

Success isn't guaranteed. Many casts yield nothing, or junk items. However, Simon counts junk as a catch. Repeat the process until you've caught five items.

Once you have five catches, return to Simon to complete the quest and receive your Tackle Box. Store your remaining worms within the box to free up inventory space.
