Fortnite Introduces Nostalgic Favs into Classic Mode
Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past with Fan-Favorite Items
Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, which also reintroduced the classic Cluster Clinger. The festive Winterfest event adds to the excitement, featuring seasonal quests, unique items such as Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade, and exciting skins including Mariah Carey and others.
December has been a whirlwind of activity for Epic Games and Fortnite. Alongside the annual Winterfest celebration, which blankets the island in snow and offers event quests and items like Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade, numerous new skins have been released. Winterfest rewards await players in the Cozy Cabin, including premium skins like Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond the holidays, Fortnite continues its streak of collaborations, this time with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja, among others. The OG mode also receives significant attention.
A recent hotfix for Fortnite, while seemingly minor, is a major win for long-time players. The surprise update to the popular OG mode marks the return of the Launch Pad, a Chapter 1, Season 1 legacy item. Before the introduction of vehicles and other mobility enhancements, Launch Pads were the quintessential traversal tool, enabling players to gain a tactical advantage or make a quick escape.
Fortnite Revives Classic Weapons and Gear
- Launch Pad
- Hunting Rifle
- Cluster Clinger
The Launch Pad isn't the sole returning item. The hotfix also brings back the Chapter 3 Hunting Rifle, providing a long-range combat option, especially appreciated given the removal of sniper rifles in Chapter 6, Season 1. Chapter 5's Cluster Clingers also make a comeback, appearing in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes, mirroring the Hunting Rifle's availability.
The success of Fortnite OG is undeniable. Epic Games reported 1.1 million players engaging with the mode within the first two hours of its launch. Alongside the mode's release came an OG Item Shop, offering classic skins and items for purchase. However, the reintroduction of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among the player base.
