Fortnite players were sent into a frenzy on August 6 when the highly coveted Paradigm skin unexpectedly resurfaced in the game's item shop. Originally released as a limited-time exclusive during Chapter 1 Season X, this skin had not been available for purchase in five years, making its sudden reappearance a major event.

Due to a bug, Fortnite quickly clarified that the skin's appearance was unintentional and announced plans to remove it from players' Lockers and issue refunds. However, after facing significant backlash from the community, the developers made a surprising decision.

In a tweet posted just two hours after the initial announcement, Fortnite declared that players who purchased the Paradigm skin could keep it. "Bought Paradigm tonight? You can keep her," the developers stated. "Her accidental return to the Shop is on us... so if you purchased The Paradigm during this evening's rotation, you can keep this Outfit and we'll refund your V-Bucks soon-ish."

To maintain the exclusivity for those who originally purchased the skin, Fortnite pledged to create a unique, new variant exclusively for them.
