Freedom Wars Remastered: Understanding Impact Damage
Quick Links
In Freedom Wars Remastered, each Abductor comes equipped with a visible health bar on its torso, which players can deplete using a variety of combat items and weapons. The game introduces different damage types, each with its unique mechanics. While Light Melee weapons are typically used to sever specific parts of an Abductor's body, Impact Damage plays a crucial role in the overall combat strategy.
Mastering the use of Impact Damage can significantly enhance your ability to defeat Abductors swiftly. This guide delves into the mechanics of Impact Damage and offers strategies for leveraging it effectively in Freedom Wars Remastered.
What Does Impact Damage Do In Freedom Wars Remastered?
Impact Damage, commonly associated with Heavy Melee and some Ranged Weapons, is a key component in your arsenal. The percentage displayed next to Impact Damage doesn't directly increase your total damage output. Instead, it represents non-elemental damage that amplifies the force of your normal attacks, thereby increasing the Abductor's stagger rate. When the stagger meter reaches its threshold, the Abductor will stagger, fall, or react in unique ways, providing a window for you to inflict substantial damage before it recovers.
The stagger meter, unlike the health bar, remains invisible, meaning an Abductor can stagger unexpectedly once the rate hits a critical point. This can be both beneficial and challenging. In offline mode, you can prepare a powerful attack to capitalize on the stagger. However, in online play, staggering an Abductor might disrupt your teammates' attack patterns. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react by moving backward when staggered, which can complicate precise binds or solid hits.
How To Increase Stagger Damage In Freedom Wars Remastered
To boost your Stagger Damage, you'll need to unlock the Weapon Development Facility. This facility is essential for crafting and customizing your gear, offering numerous options for weapon enhancements. Navigate to the Manufacture Modules section to create a module using resources like Glassy Carbon, which you can gather during Basic Operations. Once you have the necessary materials, use the Synthesise Modules feature to combine multiple modules of the same type, enhancing their effectiveness. After crafting the Stagger Damage Up Module, attach it to your weapon to increase its Impact Damage, thereby improving your ability to stagger Abductors in combat.
Given that Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements will maximize your efficiency in staggering enemies. This makes the Stagger Damage Up Module particularly valuable for players wielding heavy melee weapons or certain ranged weapons designed to build stagger effectively.
