Future Marvel Rivals Seasons Will Feature Half the Content of Season 1
Marvel Rivals Season 1, titled "Eternal Night Falls," is set to launch on January 10 at 1 AM PST and promises an unprecedented amount of content—double that of a typical season. The developers at NetEase Games have shared that this expansive season was inspired by the desire to introduce The Fantastic Four together, resulting in a larger-than-average season. Typically, Marvel Rivals seasons last three months, with a significant mid-season update to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting.
Season 1 will immerse players in the heart of New York City with three new maps. The adventure kicks off at the iconic Sanctum Sanctorum, which will host the thrilling new Doom Match game mode. Players will then navigate the bustling streets of Midtown in Convoy missions, engaging in intense battles. Although details about the Central Park map are scarce, more information is expected to be revealed as the mid-season update approaches.
In the latest Dev Vision video, Marvel Rivals' Creative Director Guangyun Chen announced that Season 1 will feature "double the playable content of a regular season." The excitement begins with the introduction of The Fantastic Four. Mister Fantastic, a Duelist, and Invisible Woman, a Strategist, will debut at the start of the season. Fans can look forward to The Thing and Human Torch joining the fray during the mid-season update, roughly six to seven weeks into Season 1.
While the focus is on The Fantastic Four, NetEase Games has not yet detailed how this supersized season will affect future updates in terms of new features, maps, or game modes. However, it's generally expected that each season will continue to introduce two new heroes or villains.
Despite the excitement around Season 1, some fans were disappointed by the absence of the rumored hero Blade. Many hoped to see the vampire hunter take on Dracula in Marvel Rivals. While Blade didn't make the cut for this season, there remains a possibility for his inclusion in future updates. With a wealth of new content and ongoing rumors, the community eagerly anticipates what NetEase Games has in store for Marvel Rivals.
