GameSir X5s controller launches with new features
- Connects via Bluetooth, USB-C, and 2.4GHz wireless
- Features Hall Effect sticks and triggers, a hair trigger mode, and swappable ABXY buttons
- Available for $49.99
Earlier this year, GameSir introduced the X5 Lite, a lightweight mobile controller that quickly became a favorite among handheld gaming fans. Now the company has launched the X5s, an upgraded model that retains the portable design while adding a range of new features for smoother, more immersive gameplay.
The standout improvement is tri-mode connectivity. You can seamlessly switch between Bluetooth, USB-C wired, and 2.4GHz wireless, offering flexibility across Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Android, iOS, and PC. It accommodates devices measuring 105–213mm in length, making it compatible with a wide variety of smartphones and handheld consoles. An included PP storage case also makes it exceptionally easy to take on the go.
Precision is at the core of the X5s. It utilizes GameSir's Hall Effect joysticks, which employ non-contact magnetic sensors to eliminate stick drift and boast a durability of up to two million cycles. The triggers also leverage Hall Effect technology for smooth, accurate input, and a dedicated hair trigger mode gives competitive players an edge when every millisecond counts.

Immersive features haven't been overlooked. Dual HD rumble motors provide nuanced vibration feedback, while the GameSir app allows you to customize dead zones, vibration intensity, and button layouts. Swappable ABXY buttons let you choose your preferred configuration, and turbo functionality extends across the main face and shoulder buttons for added versatility.
Extended play sessions are well-supported. Optional clip-on FX5 or FX5 Lite cooling accessories (sold separately) help prevent your device from overheating during long gaming periods. Pairing the controller with GameSir's GameHub platform also streamlines access to mobile cloud gaming and emulators, requiring minimal additional setup.
If you're in the market for a handheld controller, the GameSir X5s is now available for $49.99 on the GameSir website. For new gaming ideas, be sure to explore this week's list of five new mobile games worth trying!
