The life sim genre remains highly popular on mobile platforms. With successful titles like Stardew Valley and even classic entries such as Animal Crossing maintaining a strong presence. However, a new cowboy is about to enter the scene, quite literally, following the announcement that Brazilian indie hit Gaucho and the Grassland is on its way.

Gaucho and the Grassland takes its name from the titular Latin American ranchers. Instead of tending crops in fixed agricultural plots, you will roam across the terrain herding animals, caring for them, and harvesting resources. This includes shearing sheep, collecting eggs from chickens, milking cows, and enjoying the timeless pastime of fishing.

In between activities, you'll ride through diverse biomes, ranging from vast grasslands to highland areas and mystical realms in between. You will also partner with supernatural entities to restore balance to nature as part of your new duty as the guardian of the pampas.

If you haven't noticed yet, Gaucho and the Grassland aims to highlight Latin American and Brazilian culture in fresh and engaging ways. This includes not only traditional history but also mystical traditions, music, and local arts. You will explore authentic landscapes, rebuild and personalize your home, and enjoy all the features expected from a life simulation game.

The title has proven quite popular on Steam since its initial release. With low-poly yet highly stylized graphics that are well-suited for mobile devices, it is somewhat disappointing that we cannot play it sooner. For now, it is marked as 'coming soon,' but I believe those who enjoy life sims with an adventurous twist will want to keep this one on their radar.
