PSN Requirement Fuels Negative Reviews

Launched last week, God of War Ragnarok currently holds a 6/10 user rating on Steam, largely attributed to the PSN account requirement. This decision has bewildered many players, leading to a wave of negative reviews.

While some players report successfully playing without linking an account, others express frustration with the forced online component in a single-player game. One review states, "The PSN requirement is annoying, but I played fine without logging in. It's a shame; these reviews will deter people from an amazing game." Another highlights technical issues: "The PSN requirement ruined the launch. The game got stuck on a black screen, and it falsely registered 1 hour 40 minutes of playtime. Ridiculous!"

Despite the negative feedback, positive reviews also exist, praising the game's story and gameplay, while attributing the negative reviews solely to Sony's decision. One player wrote, "Great story, as expected. The negative reviews are almost entirely about the PSN requirement. Sony needs to address this; otherwise, it's a fantastic PC port."

This situation mirrors the backlash against Helldivers 2, where a similar PSN requirement was eventually reversed following widespread criticism. Sony's decision regarding God of War Ragnarok remains a point of contention within the gaming community.
