Recent online speculation suggested a major God of War announcement at an upcoming 20th-anniversary event, including rumors of classic game remasters, even echoed by industry insider Jeff Grubb. To manage expectations, Santa Monica Studio issued a statement: "Pantheons collide! We’re thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War where we’ll reflect on the past two decades of the series. Given the star-studded lineup and the anticipation surrounding this milestone, we want to make it clear that no announcements are planned for this event."
