Speculation Mounts: Gotham Knights Could Be a Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Title

Recent evidence suggests that the action RPG Gotham Knights may be making its way to the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. This exciting possibility stems from a game developer's resume, fueling speculation among gamers.

Gotham Knights Might be One of Nintendo Switch 2’s Third-Party Titles

A YouTuber, Doctre81, highlighted a resume listing Gotham Knights among the projects of a developer who worked at QLOC between 2018 and 2023. The resume notably mentions the game's development for two currently unreleased platforms. While one could potentially be the original Nintendo Switch (given a previous, now-removed ESRB rating), performance issues on other consoles cast doubt on that possibility. The second unreleased platform strongly hints at the upcoming Switch 2.

It's crucial to remember that this is purely speculation. Neither Warner Bros. Games nor Nintendo has officially confirmed Gotham Knights for the Switch 2.

Past Hints and the Switch 2's Backward Compatibility

The game's 2023 ESRB rating for the original Switch, subsequently removed, adds another layer to the mystery. While a Switch release never materialized, this past event, coupled with the recent resume discovery, lends credence to the Switch 2 theory.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa's May 7, 2024, tweet promised further details on the Switch's successor "within this fiscal year," with Nintendo's fiscal year ending in March 2025. A subsequent tweet confirmed backward compatibility with original Switch software and Nintendo Switch Online, although the use of physical cartridges remains unconfirmed.

While exciting, this remains unconfirmed information. Further updates are eagerly awaited from both Nintendo and Warner Bros. Games.
