GTA 6 Trailer 2 Boosts Pointer Sisters' 'Hot Together' on Spotify

by Leo May 17,2025

The Pointer Sisters’ track "Hot Together" has experienced a monumental surge in Spotify streams following its inclusion in the newly released trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, which debuted just yesterday. In the mere two hours after the trailer's premiere, global streams of the 1986 hit skyrocketed by an astonishing 182,000%. Although Spotify's data hasn't been updated since yesterday, "Hot Together" currently stands at just over 250,000 streams, a figure expected to climb significantly in the coming days.

Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, emphasized the cultural impact of the Grand Theft Auto series, stating, “Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way.”

PlaySince Rockstar Games unveiled the latest trailer for GTA 6 24 hours ago, it has already amassed an impressive 77.7 million views on YouTube. The resurgence of "Hot Together" is not surprising, considering the precedent set by Tom Petty’s "Love Is A Long Road," which featured in GTA 6’s first trailer late in 2023 and saw a similar spike in streams. The popularity of "Love Is A Long Road" even sparked fan theories about its relevance to the game’s narrative, though no such speculations have surfaced for "Hot Together" as of yet.

As fans eagerly await the (recently delayed) release of GTA 6 on May 26, 2026, Rockstar continues to provide them with engaging music to enjoy in the interim. In the meantime, you can explore some of the best Trailer 2 fan theories we’ve seen so far, as well as delve into our comprehensive list of 89 details Rockstar tucked into the video.
