by Henry Apr 06,2025

Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind iconic Rockstar titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up for the release of his latest project, MindsEye. This eagerly awaited game was recently showcased at the PlayStation State of Play, giving fans a fresh glimpse into its world.

The newly released trailer for MindsEye unveils a gripping high-tech spy thriller that bears notable similarities to the Grand Theft Auto series. Players can expect third-person shooting, sophisticated cinematics, and dynamic drive-and-shoot sequences, all of which are showcased in the cinematic trailer below.

PlayAccording to the official press release, MindsEye centers around the protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has disrupted his memory, causing him to experience fragmented flashbacks of his military past. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth about his history, Jacob embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his efforts.

MindsEye has been in development for several years since Benzies left Rockstar Games to establish his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy. In collaboration with Hitman developer IO Interactive, MindsEye is poised to be a AAA action-adventure game. Alongside the game, Benzies is also launching the Everywhere platform, which we've previously described as a "Big budget Roblox" following a visit to their studio in 2024.

While the new trailer did not delve into details about Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises to be an exhilarating new addition to the action genre, crafted by one of its most celebrated figures. Fans can look forward to the release of MindsEye in the summer of 2025.
