Guide: Catching the Shooting Star Trophy in Monster Hunter Wilds
While most achievements in *Monster Hunter Wilds* focus on hunting the game's largest and most ferocious creatures, there's one unique trophy that requires you to find the smallest of them all. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to unlock the 'I Caught a Shooting Star' trophy/achievement.

The 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' hidden trophy/achievement is unique due to its simple yet elusive nature. If you're unaware of its existence, it's easy to miss entirely.
To unlock this achievement, you must capture a rare endemic life form known as the **Sandstar** in the **Windward Plains**. This creature, resembling a small desert mouse with a long tail and shimmering fur, can only be found at night in a specific area of the region.
Since the Windward Plains are typically explored during the day in the game's storyline, you'll need to manipulate the time until nightfall. Here are two ways to achieve this:
- Fast Travel – This method is available early in the game once you unlock different fast travel points in the Windward Plains. Use the interactive map to access the fast travel menu and travel between points to progress time until it's night.
- Rest – After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, you can rest at base or pop-up camps. Use your Guild Points to rest and choose the time of day (Morning, Daytime, Evening, or Nighttime) and environmental conditions (No Change, Fallow, Plenty, or Inclemency).

The Sandstar is not only tiny but also incredibly fast, even when you're at full sprint on your Seikret. To aid in your pursuit, consider collecting **Screamer Pods** beforehand.
You can obtain Screamer Pods from **Baunos**, small winged monsters with red bodies found in the Windward Plains. They roam in groups around **Area 11** and **Area 13**, scavenging carcasses. While not mandatory, Screamer Pods will significantly ease your task.
Once night falls in the Windward Plains, head to the midpoint between Area 11 and Area 13. Keep a keen eye out for the Sandstar. When you spot it, chase it at full speed and, if you have them, prepare your Screamer Pods. When close enough, **shoot a Screamer Pod at the Sandstar to stun it**.
Immediately switch to your **Capture Net** (used for fishing as well) and throw it at the Sandstar to capture it. Upon successful capture, the 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' trophy/achievement will unlock, and you'll receive the **Ribbon Dream: Amber** nameplate for your Hunter Profile.
