May 6, 2024, marked one year since Hades 2 entered early access, a milestone developer Supergiant Games commemorated in a recent social media post. The team expressed gratitude for the overwhelming player support and confirmed that development is progressing steadily toward the final version.

The post stated, "It's been incredibly exciting and eye-opening as we've worked to realize the potential so many of you see in our game. Thank you for all your feedback and patience as we get closer to the finish line!"

The original Hades followed a similar early access model, spending 22 months in the phase before its full launch. Supergiant appears to be aiming for a shorter cycle for the sequel, with its initial launch planned as a timed exclusive for Nintendo's next-generation console.

Nintendo Switch 2 Timed Exclusive

During an episode of Nintendo's Creator's Voice series, Supergiant confirmed that Hades 2 will debut as a timed exclusive on the Nintendo Switch 2. With the new console targeting a June 5 release, the earliest availability for Hades 2 is expected around that timeframe.

The title builds upon the acclaimed god-like rogue-like mechanics that defined its predecessor. Developers noted this is the studio's first foray into sequels, an undertaking they approached with "a great deal of fear and respect" for the original's legacy.
