Netflix has also confirmed a star-studded lineup of professional golfers, including John Daly, Paige Spiranac, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, and Will Zalatoris. NFL star Travis Kelce also makes a cameo appearance.

Here's a quick recap of the original Happy Gilmore, in case your memory needs a little refresh:

The original Happy Gilmore ended with Sandler's character finally finding peace after a grueling golf season (and a memorable brawl with Bob Barker!). His mission? To pay off his grandmother's massive tax debt. He became the most unconventional golfer the Tour Championship had ever seen, making allies and enemies along the way. He ultimately triumphed, saved his grandmother's house, and returned home a hero.

How Happy Gilmore 2 will resurrect his golf career remains to be seen, but one thing's certain: Happy Gilmore is a legend, even in the real world, as evidenced by the support from top golfers.

The sequel was first announced in March 2024, with Netflix officially ordering it in May 2024. It's directed by Kyle Newacheck, with a script by Sandler and Tim Herlihy.
