Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Launches Open Arena Mode Testing

Unfrozen has recently unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, highlighting the core elements of this eagerly awaited strategy game. The trailer showcases intricate mechanics, diverse units, and the overall gameplay experience that fans of the series can expect. In conjunction with the trailer release, Unfrozen announced the opening of registration for the closed beta test of the "Arena" mode. Interested players can request access through the game's Steam page, with the testing phase scheduled from March 17 to March 28.

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is set to enter early access on Steam in the second quarter of 2025. At its launch, players will be able to explore six unique factions, engage in three different single-player modes, and compete in three multiplayer modes. Ubisoft, taking on the role of publisher, is poised to bring this highly anticipated title to a broad audience.

In a recent development update, Unfrozen introduced the Dungeon faction to the game, featuring units such as troglodytes, dark elves, minotaurs, medusas, hydras, and dragons. These additions promise to enhance the strategic depth of the game, offering players new and exciting dynamics on the battlefield.

The development team at Unfrozen openly discussed the challenges they encountered while crafting the Arena mode, particularly in balancing skills and heroes within the constraints of limited space and the absence of starting advantages. Despite these hurdles, the team successfully addressed these issues, ensuring that the Arena mode will provide a smooth and engaging experience for players.

While Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is slated for a PC release later this year, an exact launch date has not yet been disclosed. The developers are committed to creating a game that appeals to both long-time fans of the series and newcomers, promising a rich and accessible gaming experience.
