Hideaki Nishino Elevated to Sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Hiroki Totoki Promoted to Sony CEO
Hideaki Nishino will become the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, part of a recent press release, also revealed that Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki is being promoted to President and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development and strategy, will succeed Totoki as CFO.
Last year, SIE leadership was divided between Nishino and Hermen Hulst following Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst led PlayStation Studios, while Nishino oversaw hardware and technology. This restructuring places Nishino in charge of all SIE operations and the platform business group, with Hulst retaining his position heading PlayStation Studios.
Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. In a statement, he expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences. He thanked Hermen Hulst for his contributions and expressed excitement for the future of PlayStation.
